The Alpine Club of Canada - Edmonton Section is a volunteer led not-for-profit organization. Fill out the expression of interest below to volunteer.
Opportunities are available starting late November, and include ice wall construction, assisting with regular programs, and helping out at the UIAA Ice Climbing World Championships & YEG Ice Fest from February 16-19, 2024.
Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age and are able to commute to the Fan Park @ ICE District.
Our Mission
Our vision is to bring together, and give voice to, Canada’s mountaineering community. We promote alpine experiences, knowledge and culture; responsible access; and excellence in mountain skills and leadership.
The three day event aims to highlight and celebrate a variety of adventure-based winter activities available in Edmonton and Alberta mountain parks centered around an international ice climbing competition and seeks to drive international visitation to the city and region.
The annually recurring event will feature international world cup competitions in the disciplines of speed ice climbing and lead ice climbing, and festival activities for the community, including try-it activities, local vendors and workshops from world class athletes.
